12 Hour Cycle Challenge

Share

Ian Bythell Petty’s Residential Director completed the last in a series of physical challenges last month in aid of Pendleside Hospice. Ian along friend with Neil Welsh, from PM+M accountants, rode on a tandem for 12 hours as part of the Go Velo Round the World Challenge at the Steven Burke Cycle Hub and knocked up 150 miles.

Since the start of July Ian has completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, the Burnley 10k, the Great North Run and finally a 12 hour cycle marathon.

“It wasn’t my initial intention to do all these events and I certainly didn’t train specifically for them, but when the opportunities came up and I got asked I just kept saying yes”

“It was one of the tougher challenges and I don’t necessarily mean physically tough” said Ian “ it was hard mentally to stay tuned in and to keep going at points, especially in the early hours of the morning, but then you just have to remember why you’re doing it and the work the hospice does and that spurs you  on again”

Ian and Neill raised over £1000 with their cycle challenge. Well done guys!
