A New Term for an Old School House

A beautiful new energy efficient development regenerating an old school in Barnoldswick will be opening its show home on 5thOctober.

As with every development undertaken by Skipton Properties careful consideration has been given to the significance and heritage values of the site. The School House comprises 11 apartments (7x two bedroom and 4x one bedroom) and has been developed in a way that is sympathetic to the character and appearance of the adjacent Conservation Area, with natural landscaping and many heritage assets such as the church windows and the original stone and slate roof trusses being kept.

Sarah Barraclough, MD of Skipton Properties said:”As with all our developments, we saw a unique opportunity to breathe life into this beautiful historic building. It’s a mainstay of the Barnoldswick community and we wanted it to remain part of the local landscape for future generations.”

Barnoldswick is now a much sought after location with its proximity and easy commute to Manchester, Leeds, Preston and Bradford but is also set in beautiful outstanding countryside. The vibrant town centre ( a previous winner in the Great British High Street awards) with its independent shops, bars and restaurants is also attractive to many looking for the best of both worlds.

Simon Morgan, Residential Director at Petty Real added: “We see this development as being attractive not only to locals, maybe first time buyers or people looking to down size, but also people looking to relocate here from outside the area, especially young professionals. As the area’s only member of the Relocation Agent Network we’re uniquely placed to recognise the offering The School House provides for people looking to relocate to Pendle and with several apartments already being sold off plan we know how popular this development will prove to be.”
