Bike ride for Pendleside

Share

Pendleside Hospice recently received a surprise cheque donation from our director Ian Bythell and local florist Going Dutch.

Ian completed 220 laps by bicycle of the Steven Burke Cycle Hub, which equates to 145 miles in order to raise £100 in sponsorship. He said; “The local community is extremely important to us and we can’t think of anything better than supporting a local charity that does such fantastic work.”

Peter Boast who is the owner of Going Dutch very kindly matched the sponsorship that we here at Petty’s raised bringing the total presented to the hospice to a charitable £200.

Christina Cope, fundraising manager at Pendleside Hospice said; “We were completely surprised with the donation as we didn’t realise that a fundraising event was even taking place! We rely heavily on donations in order to continue to provide a high level of service and the fact that this has been raised locally and has come from not one but two local businesses is just fantastic and we are very grateful.”

We have supported Pendleside Hospice since 1988 through various fundraising events and this particular cycling fundraiser was organised by Kirsti Grayson, a British cycling candidate coach who runs Go Velo which offers a range of cycle training in Lancashire.
