With stiff competition from a host of leaders in their field, Jody Lauder from Petty Commercial has scooped the coveted award of Property Professional of the Year at this year’s Lancashire Business Awards.
Now in their fifth year the awards run by business lobbying group, Downtown Lancashire in Business were held at Stanley House Hotel in Blackburn and attracted over 180 representatives and key business figures from across the county.
The hotly contested category recognised which property developer, agent or architect in the property world has come through the recession best and commenting on his award, Jody said: “Without doubt, this has been a tough and challenging time for everyone associated with the property industry.
“By digging deep, focusing our efforts and maintaining strong relationships with key partners, clients and high street lending institutes, we have been able to maintain and consolidate our position to allow and continue our programme of investment and expansion into other more economically active areas.”
Testament to his award win is some key achievements over the past 12 months. Jody has been involved with completing several key transactions to include the acquisition and asset management of a Portway House on Preston’s Docks, completed high street Lending Institutions’ loan security valuations to secure excess of £12million of funding, acquired new Leyland premises at a cost saving of £350,000 for Lawrence Hunt (Spar), and assisted a Preston based fish food distribution business mitigate their dilapidations by some £40,000.
Jody Lauder joined the firm with responsibility for Petty’s new Preston office offering a range of agency and consultancy services for Landlords, Tenants and associated property related professionals to take benefit from. The strategic location of the office now provides Petty’s thorough coverage of the northwest and north Lancashire areas, including south Cumbria and surrounding Preston City areas.
