Pendle Forest Ladies Hockey team have been named women’s team of the year at the prestigious England Hockey Awards to cap a remarkable couple of seasons for the all-conquering group.
Forest, who last lost a game in January 2015, have not been beaten in 74 matches and will now play in the North Hockey Women’s League Premier Division – one step below the national league.
The fantastic run of form, that includes winning back-to-back league titles and a unbeaten run stretching three and half years, means some of the younger players in the squad, including Residential Director Ian Bythell’s daughter Freya and niece Thea, don’t know what it is like to lose.
Petty’s are proud to have been one of the sponsors of the hockey team for a number of years and the clubs ethos of individuals playing together as part of a bigger team fits well with how we at Petty’s like to do business.
Dani Hornby , team captain, says “The aim for the club next year is to stay in the new higher division but a top four place could see us promoted to the national league, so who knows!”
Good luck ladies we’ll be eagerly watching your progress
