We want to say a big Thank you to everyone that donated to our #RANFoodbank10K food bank appeal.
The nationwide event organised by Relocation Agent Network, successfully collected over 10,000 items of food and other necessities for local food banks between 13th to 20th June and you certainly did your part in Burnley and Pendle donating hundreds of items.
We will be distributing the much needed items to our chosen food banks, the Salvation Army on Stanley Street in Nelson and SPE, a community enterprise project in Burnley later this week.
Major Carol Ainsworth from the Salvation Army said “This is fantastic news, we’re extremely grateful for all donations as they’re much needed. We know how generous the people of Burnley and Pendle are and when called upon they can be very giving. Thank you this means a lot to us ”
Neil Sharpe from SPE said “We’d like to thank Petty and the people of Burnley and Pendle for their kind donations. Without food banks such as us and the Salvation Army many people in our area, including children and vulnerable people, just couldn’t feed themselves”
Ian Bythell, our Residential Director said, “When we heard about the imitative we knew we had to take part in something that makes such a positive impact to those in need in our local community. We’ve been blown away by the level of support we’ve received from everybody and we want to thank everyone that’s popped in with a tin or a box of cereal to help us hit our target. But it’s important to remember that these food banks are in need of donations every week of the year and we hope that we’ve raised awareness just a little to their needs”
